Getting healthy is all about perspective (and a little bit of execution). 🎉

Love the point my friend @meowmeix is making with this post. Healthy doesn’t need to taste bland or seem like “work”. There are a ton of delicious foods that are powerfully healthy. 🤤

🍫 For example, dark chocolate is what I call a Genius Food (highlighted in my book) because the cocoa flavanols support healthy vascular and brain function (the 2 go hand in hand). After consuming these flavanols, participants showed, among other things, enhancements in working memory performance and improved visual information processing. And for women, eating cocoa after a night of total sleep deprivation actually counteracted the cognitive impairment (i.e. less accuracy in performing tasks) that such a night brings about.

👌🏼 The effects of consuming cocoa flavanols for a longer term (ranging from 5 days up to 3 months) has been studied in older people. It turns out that for them cognitive performance including processing speed, working memory, and verbal fluency were greatly were improved by a daily intake of cocoa flavanols.

🧠 And, people of all ages who habitually consume chocolate also have better memory performance. So, who says eating healthy needs to taste like dirt?! Not me!
